At The Inn at Folkston, we serve a full hot breakfast in the dining room overlooking our herb garden, or guests can request breakfast in their room. Breakfast is served between 7:30 and 9:00, however do accommodate requests for earlier or later times. Our breakfasts vary daily, so guests are served something new every time they sit down for one of our delicious breakfasts. Breakfast begins with a glass of juice and shade-grown organic coffee, regular and decaf, or hot tea - black, green, and herbals. We serve homemade sweet breads such as pumpkin bread and a variety of muffins - poppyseed, cranberry-nut, and blueberry. Fresh fruit is a mainstay of our breakfast menu. We serve whatever is in season. In summer that might include Georgia peaches or blueberries and organic melon from the food coop to which we belong. Generous fruit cups served also include bananas, grapefruit, pineapple, kiwi, strawberries and other delicous choices. Guests are served a hot dish of the day. Favorites at the inn are fruit pancakes of many varieties, for instance, puffed apple pancakes, baked pancakes covered in strawberries or bananas, topped with fresh maple syrup. Cinnamon french toast or banana pecan waffles, feta/artichoke souffle, and other egg based dishes are served. The Inn at Folkston accommodates all special dietary requests, whether low carb, gluten-free or vegan. We always have soy products available for making such dishes as fruit smoothies, oatmeal with sweet potato and apricots, granola with soy milk. Another delicious choice is sauteed portabello mushrooms over whole grain toast, served with mint-topped tomatoes.
