Amapola provides All-Inclusive beachfront accommodations & local eco-tours for our guests. Resort property has 1200 meters/3600 feet of pathway, from beachfront to canalfront, to explore Flora & Fauna of our natural wilderness left in it's natural state.

The Lodge is located at the gateway entrance of a popular Eco-tourism destination of Tortuguero canal Zone. Amapola is the only Hotel in this area that has a direct road access from the highway and a beachfront location with an access to Tortuguero Canal, and therefore Amapola guests can enjoy the area attractions at convenience while staying at the Lodge. Costa Rica has abundance of tropical and temperate vegetables, beans, breads, staples and fruits. Among them: Black & Red Beans, Cabbage, Tomato, Potato, Corn, Plantains, Squash, Cauliflower, Chayote, Ayote, Tortilla, Yuca, Peppers, Onions, Antichok, Cilantro...etc etc

Among the specific dishes we serve:

Gallo Pinto: Rice & Black Beans sauted together with Peppers & Onions & served with Corn Tortilla (without egg for Vegetarians).

Rice & Beans: Caribbean speciality of Rice & Black Beans, Peppers & onions cooked in coconut oil , served with Tortilla.

Vegetarian Casado: (Special of the Day Plate). Rice served with three vegetarian Dishes of the day; usually chosen among Potato, Cauliflower; Squash, cole slaw, Cabbage, and served with sweet plantains, fruit salad, Corn Tortilla & Tamarind drink.

Vegetarian Thali: ( Special Indian Veg Plate) Rice served with two indian vegetable dishes, Wheat Tortilla, salad, lentil soup, rice pudding & served with light Buttermilk drink. Amapola is open to any suggestions & special requests for food as our cooks specialize in Costa Rican, European and Indian cooking.
